Sirius Black
Seventeen • Gryffindor • Padfoot
I took my trunk, grinned smugly at Vance and pretended to take an invisible hat of for Lily, whilst making a bow. "Lily, always a pleasure." I was pretty sure the red mark where her hand hit my cheek would stay visible for the next couple of days and I made a mental note to myself to remember I have to pull one of the famous Sirius Black Pranks on her some time soon. "See y'at school, Violet," James said with a smile. "See you later, Evans."
We turned around to look for a train door, but got interrupted by Vance who finally decided to say something. "Hey Black!" He shouted. I rolled my eyes at James. "I don't have time for this," I told him annoyed. I crossed my arms and waited impatiently for Vance to shut up. "..light your hair if you don't extinguish me. I've been told it's very flameable. And remember I don't forget easy!"
I sighed and shouted back: "Strong words for a guy who can't even defend himself! Your lady friend over there has more balls than you do! You know what they say, huh, the bigger the mouth, the smaller the..." I laughed and a few people around us, who had overheard the conversation laughed as well. I turned around for real now and walked away, with James right behind me. Vance had no idea what he had got himself in to. This was only the beginning of a year full of mockery and humiliating pranks.
James whistled. "Well, Black, you just got punched in the face by a girl."
"You know, Prongs, for such a small girl, she's got a lot of strength," I answered and rubbed my free hand over my burning cheek. "I swear, I would've hexed him if I wasn't supposed to be mature and independent oh and let's not forget, responsible as Head Boy." James continued. I laughed, "Well, you have to be all those things, but I don't! The life of a careless man, how wonderful!" I raised my voice and spread my arms, whilst grinning at James. A few students looked disturbed at me but I ignored them.
"Where's the others?" James bumped me on the shoulder and looked around. "I don't know. I lost Moony in the ocean of people this morning and Wormtail is probably late as always. Wouldn't surprise me if he-" James had stopped walking and I turned around to see why. "Prongs, what are you-" And there was Mrs. Potter, staring angrily at James and motioning he had to put his glasses on. I began to laugh. Mrs. Potter was a lovely and understanding woman, but even though she knew James hated his glasses, she made him wear them. I loved it. James hastily got out his glasses and put them on. She stopped shouting as soon as he had his glasses on and a big smile appeared on her face when she saw me. I smiled back and winked.
"You have to help me, Padfoot," James said. I sighed loudly: "Listen Prongs, I've told you a million times: I do not want to help you clean up your room. Your mum even forbade me to help you and besides there are probably dying creatures living in there, I don't feel like digging a mass grave in your garden."
James ignored me and stopped walking: "I've lost my charm." For a moment I was too surprised to say anything but then I burst into a roaring laughter. I threw my arm over his shoulder, whilst trying to hold my laughter. "Prongs, buddy, you came to the right guy. Tell uncle Sirius what the problem is."
